In the unforgettable opening sequence of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Starfleet's finest meet an untimely demise while trying to rescue a freighter named Kobayashi Maru.

Of course we all know that this was simply a test for prospective Starfleet officers, but what if this so-called "no-win scenario" was based on a real historical event in the Star Trek universe?

What if it was one that actually took place during the Earth-Romulan War of the 22nd century?

In No-Win Scenario, Federation historian Brandon Chambers reveals that it was originally Captain Archer and the crew of the NX-01 who decided the fate of the Kobayashi Maru freighter after it was damaged by a Romulan mine.

Captain Archer knows that Romulan ships are ready and waiting for him to ride to the rescue so they can capture his ship and take it apart. Does Archer mount a rescue, knowing that he and his crew will face death or capture, or does he turn his back on dozens of civilians?

Check out this “missing episode” of The Romulan War: A Star Trek Fan Production to see if Captain Archer can succeed where so many who came after him failed.

No-Win Scenario stars Ethan Jones as Chambers, Mark Harriman as the narrator, and special visual fx from Samuel Cockings, and an original score by Andrew Currier who also scored the The Romulan War webisode Preamble to War.
